Have you always felt that your intelligence was superior to most people around you? Growing up our childhood is largely based on the concept of how smart we can demonstrate that we are, and how we stack up against our peers. This is enforced through test scores, school assignments and the quest to be accepted into our school of choice. We quickly learn to accept that our ability to memorize and recall information taught to us in classes is the true measure of how ‘smart’ we are within our education system.

As we leave the world of academia and enter to the real world, we are introduced to the idea that the qualifications to be ‘smart’ as were accepted in school no longer accommodate the true measure of intelligence. This may be due to a complete focus on one specific task, putting all others aside for the time being, or it may be a technique to tap into their deeper, creative side.
