The authoritarian left fantasizes about a socialist America. They want to take most of what people earn and redistribute it to the rest of the population to cover privileges that they consider rights. Fortunately, conservatives are pushing back against their attempts to ruin our country. House Republicans recently passed a piece of legislation rolling back Obama’s attempt to socialize our country’s healthcare.
New York’s Attorney General (AG), Eric Schneiderman recently announced that he will sue the federal government if the current Obamacare replacement gets signed into law. This is because he believes that abortions are a constitutional right, and as a result, abortion providers like Planned Parenthood must receive get taxpayer money. He claims that by not funding Planned Parenthood, the bill places an “undue burden” on women.
During a recent interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett, Schneiderman out against the health care bill passed by Republicans in the House of Representatives. He claimed that not only is it “bad public policy…[that’ll] cost millions of people health care,” it is also unconstitutional “to cut off funding for breast cancer screenings and education on sexually-transmitted diseases.”

Liberals like Schneiderman claim that the bill is unconstitutional to not have the federal government fund organizations like Planned Parenthood, which provides a variety of health care services, then women will be forced to travel to a different city, or even a different state, to get what they want. However, even though doing so may be inconvenient, it’s not unconstitutional. Filing a lawsuit against a perfectly legal bill is a waste of taxpayer dollars. If he goes through with his threat, he should be held accountable for wasting money.
Democrats need to understand that people don’t have a right to have their bills paid. There is nothing in our Constitution requiring taxpayers to pay for other people’s healthcare. While the decision in Roe v. Wade stopped the government from prohibiting procedures like abortion, it didn’t rule that other people must fund them. Despite this, liberals still actively try to pass legislation forcing others to support killing the unborn.
Fortunately, President understands the value of a human life and has made it clear that babies in the womb should be protected. While running for office, he supporters “I am committed to… defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they continue to perform abortions, and re-allocating their funding to community health centers that provide comprehensive healthcare for women.”
Shortly after saying this, Trump chose Mike Pence, a well-known pro-life advocate, to be his Vice President. After being elected, Pence attended a pro-life rally in D.C. and the administration’s commitment to protecting unborn babies. In front of thousands of conservative activists, he proclaimed, “Life is winning again in America!” He continued, “[this] is evident in the election of pro-life majorities in the Congress of the United States of America,” adding, “but it is no more evident, in any way, than in the historic election of a president who stands for a stronger America, a more prosperous America, and a president who, I proudly say, stands for the right to life — President Donald Trump.”
So far, President Trump and his administration have lived up to their pro-life commitments. In addition to working with Republicans in the House to end federal funding of abortion and abortion providers in order to devote those resources to health care services for women across America, he also signed an executive order ending foreign aid to organizations that perform or promote abortions worldwide. It is now up to the Senate to finish what House Republicans started. To ensure that the legislation is easily passed, Trump needs to be an active participant. It’s up to him to negotiate the deals necessary to get this done. Given his track record, it’s likely that he will succeed.
Liberals like Schneiderman mistakenly think that disagreeing with a policy makes a lawsuit. Because they want everyone to pay for healthcare, they consider all legislation that stops this from happening unconstitutional. However, they have no clue what they’re talking about. Everything Trump’s doing to protect the unborn is consistent with the Constitution. With him in charge, developing fetuses can rest assured.
