The Moonlight Bunny Ranch Brothel has been destroyed. Earlier this week a crazed man rammed a stolen 18-wheeler truck into the infamous Nevada bordello, causing at least a hundred thousand dollars worth of damage.
Around 4 am Thursday morning Brian Brandt drove a stolen truck full-speed into the Bunny Ranch’s front door. He tried to protect himself from the destruction; brothel owner Dennis Hof told reporters that the assailant was clad in full body armor.
“He stole a truck full of Amazon Prime products and boxes and came to my Bunny Ranch and destroyed our building, in full body armor and a mask,” Hof told the Daily Mail. “No one knows him, none of the girls said he was a customer.”
There were thirty working girls, ten clients, and five employees were inside the building when the horrific incident occurred. The inhabitants had no warning as to what was about to happen. Luckily, no one was injured.
Mickey Blashfield, the Director of Community Relations for Central Transport, told the Reno Gazette-Journal that the trucking company received a call on Thursday from a Nevada employee reporting Brandt’s theft of the truck.
“He showed up early this morning at the terminal and commandeered a truck,” Blashfield. “The next thing we heard was a call from the Bunny Ranch about an incident taking place there. So far, it thankfully appears to be only property damage,” he said. “But, who knows what was happening during that time before he crashed or what his ultimate intentions were.”
During an interview, Hof claimed that the attack might have been related to terrorism as it’s not yet clear how Brandt is connected to the brothel. Regardless of his motivation, the brutal attack could easily have turned deadly.
Brandt was arrested by the Sparks police department for battery and conspiracy to destroy property just days before his attack at the Bunny Ranch.
“It’s horrifying,” Hof said. “It’s horrifying that this can happen. If this guy was arrested last week, why let him out again?”
“It woke me up, I got my gun and went out there. It was a terrorist act at the friendliest place on Earth. We don’t know why this happened. It’s brutal, absolutely brutal what’s going on.”
Legalized prostitution is still a contentious issue. It’s possible that Brandt’s action was politically motivated. The Bunny Ranch has flourished since 1955, but it still has quite a few critics.
Hof has no intention to close the brothel. He currently has seven bordellos and over 500 girls working for him. The Bunny Ranch is the most famous location. Hof told the Mail that the Ranch would remain open while renovations occurred. Clients willing to ignore the gaping hole in the building can still enjoy the pleasure of the employees.
“My guess is that it would be worldwide news,” Hof. “He thought if he drove his truck into a brothel full of 35 hot girls it would be worldwide news.”
Meanwhile, Bunny Ranch employee Jenny Jade told reporters: “It sounded like a bomb went off in here. Everything was all shaking.” Hof claimed that multiple girls were currently at work when the incident occurred.
Brandt may have protected himself from physical harm, but he didn’t try to escape police capture. He was arrested on the scene almost immediately.
The fact that Brandt managed to get arrested for two separate violent crimes within the space of a few days hints that he may be disturbed. Perhaps there is no reason at all as to why he targeted the Bunny Ranch.
