Democrats have officially gone insane. Tired of bleating endlessly about Clinton’s defeat, they’ve turned their tears to an even more asinine subject- gender diversity in schools.
Before you become appalled and stop reading, you should know that gender diversity in this context does NOT mean diversity between men and women. No, the liberals latest war is being waged against the use of such “outdated” terms as men and women. Instead, they urge, we should aim to be “gender-neutral.”
Taxpayers in Britain will be disappointed to learn that their money was used to fund a wildly leftist school textbook. Two hundred thousand pounds were spent devising a ridiculous book entitled Can I Tell You About Gender Diversity? A guide for friends, family, and professionals.
The guidebook for teachers strongly condemns identifying a student as a boy or girl. Instead the writers encourage using a confusing array of alternative terms. Astonishingly the book is intended to be a lesson guide for elementary school children. Apparently 3rd graders now need to know what “intersex” means.
Children as young as 7 will be taught that using the terms boys and girls is somehow discriminatory to transgender students. Teachers will be forbidden from using language that suggests there are only two genders. The absurd rules have the approval of liberal politicians across England.
Classrooms have long been politicized. Angry liberals have a complete choke-hold on the American education system. The powerful teachers union is deeply Democratic and has a profound influence on education policy.
Children who think of themselves as the gender with which they were born, i.e. 99.9 percent of children, are called cisgender. Transwoman describes a person who was born male but now identifies as female. Transman describes the opposite.
Why are we thrusting these silly terms into kid’s heads? Telling an elementary school student that he can no longer say boy
There’s absolutely no intellectual benefit to teaching a child what a Transman or woman is. The varying possible expressions of gender are not an appropriate topic for an elementary school teacher to be giving lessons on. Children’s own identities are hardly formed; forcing them to dramatically alter their perception of the world accomplishes nothing but bewilderment.
The authors toss around the terms “panromantic” “intersex” and “genderqueer.” It reads more like an introduction to feminist theory textbook than a study book for an elementary school teachers.
The textbook frames its lessons around a fictional 12-year-old girl using hormone blockers to transition into a boy. Named Kit, the character gushes about his fictional school. He explains that when children in his class had to be split into groups they were separated by features like height rather than gender.
“This meant that when we were asked to do something, I didn’t feel that I was weird or different,” Kit says.
The book is being billed by its publishers as “’the first book to explain medical transitioning for children aged seven and above.” As if that’s something to celebrate.
The book’s being distributed by the government-funded organization Educate & Celebrate. Their stated goal is to give young children lessons in gender and sexuality.
“I think it is damaging to children to introduce uncertainty into their minds,” said former Tory Party chairman Lord Tebbit when speaking about the new textbook.
Illustrations of “gender-neutral” unicorns adorn the books’ pages. The unicorns genitals are masked with a large star. It’s so ludicrous that you’d be forgiven for thinking it was satire.
The Bishop of Chester, the Right Reverend Peter Forster, said about the book: “This is likely to sow more confusion than clarity.”
Elly Barnes, founder of Educate & Celebrate, said the book was “much-needed,” adding “not everyone identifies as male or female – that is fact.”
Barnes’ mindset is contagious. Liberal American teachers are already introducing similar changes in schools across the US. It’s now common to encounter a “gender-neutral” bathroom on campus. A student who describes themselves as “non-binary” or “genderqueer” is greeted with sympathy rather than confusion. Being a girl isn’t cool anymore. Cool people don’t ascribe to gender norms.
It’s almost laudable how creative liberals can be when making something up to complain about. Modern Democrats aren’t happy unless they’re protesting “injustice.” Instagram doesn’t care how legitimate your cause is; the picture of you standing with your fists raised in protest will look cool regardless.
President-elect will provide useful protection against the latest barrage of liberal nonsense. The teachers union’s influence will be shaken by a Republican-controlled Washington. Silly leftist agendas will be abandoned in favor of actual education.
