Last week, the White House was playing host to several presidents of historically black colleges. It was a nice little event that was meant to stop Democratic voters from claiming that Trump was a “racist” like they did so much during the election. Unfortunately, they found something else to critique.
To commemorate the event, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway was doing her best to get a good angle of President Trump alongside these other presidents. To get that angle, she had to get on her knees on one of the couches there. This little act saw a Democratic member of Congress make a snide remark that has erupted into a firestorm.
Representative Cedric Richmond (D-LA) made the comment that Conway “really looked kind of familiar in that position” referencing her on her knees. It was a crude remark that the Democratic lawmaker just had to make. While the public has erupted into a firestorm, the Democrats themselves have not condemned his comment themselves.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was one of those Democrats that think that they would be all over this Democratic representative.. Considering that the Democrats are the ones that are always talking about women’s rights and for the public to stop making comments like these about women in general, one would
That is not the case however, as on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Pelosi avoided the question, and in true Democrat fashion, attempted to turn the discussion to Donald Trump. Avoiding the question doesn’t mean that the topic didn’t happen; it just means that they don’t want to talk about it.
The host of the program, Jake Tapper, asked Pelosi if the congressman should apologize to Conway. The answer should be an unequivocal yes, as this was a disgusting comment someone made about a White House official. “Shouldn’t the congressman apologize to Kellyanne Conway, and honestly where is the Democratic Party in expressing outrage over this?”
Pelosi countered with, “Well, I wasn’t at the dinner. I’m just finding out about this. But the fact is, I’m still in sort of a state of, what is going on here that the person who occupies the White House is a person who was on that Hollywood video that said the crude things he said about women.”
“You are all criticizing Cedric for something he said in the course of the evening. Any he maybe should be criticized for that. I just don’t know the particulars,” she added, continuing with, “But I do everyday marvel at the fact that somebody who said the gross and crude things that President Trump said – wouldn’t even be allowed in a frat house – and he’s in the White House.”
What does that have to do with the fact that a Democratic Representative said a disgusting comment about someone who works in the Trump White House? Yes Trump has said some things that women wouldn’t find appealing, but so did Mr. Richmond. However because he was going against someone that worked with Trump, it was okay? That’s the message the Democratic Party is sending.
Even Tapper appeared dumbfounded at Pelosi’s comments. That didn’t stop him from trying again, as he attempted to clarify his question, asking if the Democrats’ “moral authority” is undermined simply because they don’t critique Democrats that make crude comments towards women. They only do so when it’s Republicans that do so.
Even with this new question in there, Pelosi couldn’t offer a straight answer. “Well, I think everybody was making crude comments. I—I just don’t know…I wasn’t at the dinner.” This has been in the news for a while now, and the best that Pelosi can come up with is that she “wasn’t at the dinner.”
In a way, Pelosi did answer Tapper’s revised question without speaking about it. The Democrats don’t slam members of their own party when they make crude comments about women. They only do so when Republicans do so. If it weren’t true, then Pelosi would have been all over Richmond for making a statement like that. However she just avoided the topic and tried to turn it on Donald Trump.
To put it simply, the Democrats will ignore a comment that one of their own made against a woman, but if a Republican were to make the same comment, they would be up in arms. Literally the only difference is the party affiliation. So, once again, Democrats prove themselves to be giant hypocrites.
This isn’t the first time that Pelosi has proven to make herself look foolish. She was talking about how she made a comparison between. Essentially she said that you couldn’t tell Trump voters that he would turn on them and that they have to figure it out themselves. This isn’t the last time that Pelosi is going to make a stupid remark like that.
Even before that, Pelosi was known for making questionable comments that made the crowd scratch their head in confusion. After all, this is the same womanon the congressional floor during the Michael Flynn debacle. What makes this worse is the fact that a congressional leader couldn’t tell the different between a real tweet and a fake one. That is incredibly disturbing.
Share this article to show that once again, Pelosi made a comment that is sure to leave people angry. She refused to condemn one of her own Party members for making a crude comment about Kellyanne Conway, but will have absolutely no qualms about slamming Republicans that do the same. For the party that is supposedly there to help women, their refusal to condemn a fellow Democrat’s comments is breathtakingly hypocritical.
