The term “fake news” has been thrown around a lot in the past year, but sometimes, there’s no other way to describe media bias.

Liberal news outlets such as the New York Times like to pretend that they’re paragons of virtue and the gold standard of reporting.

But a new photo reveals that the once-powerful newspaper may not be as impartial as it wants you believe… and its editors may be purposely doctoring the famous New York Times bestseller list.

Regnery Publishing, a major outlet for conservative authors including Laura Ingraham and Mark Levin, announced on Tuesday that it’s essentially “breaking up” with the Times.

The large publishing house released a photo of book sales numbers from an independent source for the week of Sept. 3, and compared that list to the New York Times bestseller rankings.

A photo of the side-by-side comparison — from conservative author Dinesh D’Souza’s Twitter feed — shows that in almost every case, the New York Times ranked conservative books significantly lower than their actual sales numbers merited.

Perhaps the most glaring difference is for D’Souza’s book “The Big Lie.” Regnery believes that his conservative book was actually the top title in America for the week, while The Times has demoted it to the seventh spot.

“[T] he most recent bestseller list for the week of September 3, 2017 listed ‘The Big Lie: Exposing the Nazi Roots of the American Left’ at #7 on the list, despite being #1 in sales out of all 15 books featured on the list, according to Nielsen BookScan,” explained anews release from Regnery.

“For the same week, ‘No Go Zones: How Sharia Law is Coming to a Neighborhood Near You’ by Raheem Kassam had the 10th highest sales of the 15 books on the list, according to Nielsen BookScan, but was not placed on the list at all,” continued the publisher.

Regnery isn’t holding anything back in their criticism of the New York Times, and is pointing the blame at one thing: Liberal bias.

“Increasingly, it appears that the Times has gathered book sale data in a manner which prioritizes liberal themed books over conservative books and authors,” stated Marji Ross, the president of Regnery.

“The net result has been a bestseller list that has increasingly become less relevant to the Regnery audience, and less reflective of which books are actually selling best in the country, regardless of one’s political persuasion,” she continued.

Ross explained that the major publisher would be tossing the once-important Times bestseller list to the wayside.

“Therefore, we will no longer promote, publicize or frankly even bother to mention this list. Our bestselling books will no longer carry the ‘NYT bestseller’ banner on their covers, nor will we use the moniker in our marketing or publicity,” she declared.

“Instead, we will continue to track sales, as a large number of media groups do, through Nielsen’s BookScan report, and we will use the Publishers Weekly bestseller list as our benchmark.”

The elephant in the room is that liberal rags like the New York Times are dying. They have become irrelevant, and are being replaced by alternative online sources and independent trusted metrics.

By exposing the Times’ bias, Regnery has helped put a nail in the newspaper’s coffin… and it’s only a matter of time until other major publishers do the same.
