On the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live, they viciously attacked Trump, the Vegas shooting, Tom Petty passing away and OJ being released from prison. However, one topic they completely ignored was the sexual harassment scandal of Hollywood producer and Democratic donor Harvey Weinstein. Now why do you think, out of every issue, they would ignore that one?
We all know the answer, but SNL creator Lorne Michaels confirmed it even more. “It’s a New York thing,” responded Michaels when asked by a Daily Mail reporter. This seems to be referencing that Weinstein is originally from New York. However, this hasn’t ever stopped them from going after President Trump.
However, according to one audience member, SNL did make a Weinstein joke but it got cut from the final broadcast. “I remember a joke being made about him during weekend update… I don’t remember the joke, I just remember that it got a big reaction from the audience,” said an audience member.
Weinstein tried to apologizing for his horrible behavior towards women, saying that he is trying to change. “I have got to change, I’ve got to grow, I’ve got to deal with my personality, I’ve got to work on my temper, I have got to dig deep,” said Weinstein.
“I am terribly embarrassed for my company, my staff and the only person who could fix this is me. I am going to fix myself, I am going to fix how I deal with women and how I deal with my temper and power,” said Weinstein.
