RWC News Texas Muslim Pleads Guilty to Torching Own Mosque, Liberals Had Hoped He Was a Trump Supporter After an arsonist lit a mosque on fire in southwest Houston last December, liberal media outlets rushed to tie the despicable crime to the allegedly inflammatory rhetoric of then-GOP presidential primary candidate Donald Trump.

Sadly for the liberal media and its cohorts in the Democrat Party, this narrative dissolved into thin air late last week when the suspected perpetrator, a man named Gary Nathaniel Moore, pleaded guilty Friday to having started the fire, according to The Houston Chronicle. He was sentenced to four years in prison.

And he was not just any random man. Moore, in fact, had been a frequent visitor who reportedly prayed at the mosque five times per day, seven days per week, before lighting a fire in it.

Nice try, liberal media.

As an example of the bias the liberal media displayed, consider what CBS reported after the crime originally occurred.

“Advocacy groups believe there has been a spike in anti-Muslim incidents across the United States in recent weeks that can be linked to the mass shooting in California and the inflammatory rhetoric of Donald Trump and other Republican presidential candidates,” the outlet reported on Dec. 26, 2015.

CBS published that without there being any evidence to suggest the arson had anything whatsoever to do with anti-Muslim bigotry. As was pointed at the time by Breitbart, however, CBS was not alone. CNN and NBC also pushed the same patently fake narrative.

It makes one wonder just how much truth there was to the oft-made claim by liberal media charlatans that America was suffering from an epidemic of Islamophobia. Add to this the fact that many suspected anti-Islamic hate crimes committed after Trump’s election last month turned out to be nothing but hoaxes.

The most well-known of these hoaxes was that of a young woman from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette who claimed that two white males had torn off her hijab.

“(She) admitted that she fabricated the story about her physical attack as well as the removal of her hijab and wallet by two white males,” the Lafayette Police Department revealed in a statement days after she made the complaint, according to The Washington Post. “This incident is no longer under investigation.”

Again, nice try, though, liberal media.
