Democrats have repeatedly shown that they will do just about anything for votes. This includes blocking efforts aimed at improving the integrity of the voting process. Leading up to the election, conservatives across the country pushed for measures that would’ve helped limit fraud, which would seem like a bipartisan issue. However, since liberals benefit immensely from illegal participation, they fought back.
One of the people the charge against the changes is the daughter of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Amelia Warren Tyagi. She heads the organization Demos, a New York City-based liberal special interest group. Currently, she’s being funded by George Soros to actively fight against conservatives pushing for voter-ID laws and voter-registration audits.
According to reports, the purpose of her group is to get money out of politics and to defend “the freedom to vote.” She first started working there in 2009, where she held a position on the Board of Trustees. In 2011, she managed to become the Chairman of the organization. Recently, Demos teamed up with other progressives to prevent any type of election reform pushed by Republicans and are receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding from George Soros’ Open Society Foundation to do so.
The group is currently fighting conservatives in several states. Most recently, they’ve partnered with unions to try and defeat lawsuits aimed at improving the voting process in North Carolina and Florida. In North Carolina, the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), an organization dedicated to election integrity based in Indiana, is suing Wake County, N.C. for allegedly failing to accurately maintain voting records. They’re representing the Voter Integrity Project N.C., a research group focused on fair elections. The group is claiming that since the state did not properly maintain their registration records, illegal submissions likely occurred.
Specifically, the lawsuit states, “according to publicly-available data, Wake County has more registered voters on the rolls eligible to cast a ballot than it has citizens who are alive.” To clarify, they say, “voter rolls maintained by the Defendant for Wake County contain or have contained more registrants than eligible voting-age citizens. The number of registrants in Wake County, North Carolina has been over 100 percent of eligible voting-age citizens.”
However, Demos is helping to push back. One of the opponents of the lawsuit is Cameron Bell, a legal representative for the organization. He’s currently working with liberal attorneys to have the case it dismissed. The group, Individuals from the Southern Coalition for Justice, is also working to defeat the case. Unsurprisingly, they are being paid by Soros as well.
In Florida, PILF filed a lawsuit against Brenda Snipes for also failing to maintain voting records. In this case, the group is representing the American Civil Rights Union (ACRU), a conservative version of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). The claim, in this case, is similar to the one in North Carolina. Specifically, Snipes is being accused of failing to properly maintain information. Bell and his colleagues, Scott Novakowski and Stuart C. Naifeh, are also helping out in this case.
A spokesperson for PILF criticized the left’s attempt to stop voting reform. He stated, “just like when leftist financiers tried and failed to block ID laws from coast to coast, the checkbooks are open again to preserve the status quo where poor record maintenance is concerned.” He added, “when you view vulnerability as currency, it must come natural to want to protect not only the weaknesses in a system but the actors who exacerbate them.”
Although Trump spoke out against voter fraud during the election, he took an even stronger stance against it upon defeating Hillary. After winning the electoral college, which made him the new President of the United States, he claimed that he would’ve also won the popular vote if only legal citizens are counted. Specifically, he said, “In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.”

When asked to clarify, his Press Secretary, Sean Spicer, stated that there were a number of studies to back up his claim. One such study was done in 2008 and found that 14% of voters were non-citizens. Spicer claims Trump has been presented with many more studies showing the same thing.
Unsurprisingly, the President’s comments were met with outrage. Robert Reich, a far-left former Secretary of Labor, claimed that Trump’s comments about fraud are intended to make it more difficult to participate in the democratic process and accused him of “laying the groundwork for more state restrictions on access to the ballot by American citizens.” However, Trump is not trying to prevent citizens from voting. He only wants to stop those who do so illegally.
Many people claim that there is simply no evidence to support Trump’s claim. Some that the studies that were referred to had used flawed data and when analyzed more carefully, they concluded that no evidence of non-citizen voting had taken place in recent elections. Others claim that fraud does not necessarily follow from simply having more people registered in a county. However, these current lawsuits reinforce President Trump’s statements about fraud by proving that there were more people registered than there should have been. As a result, it’s likely that people took advantage of this situation to vote illegally.
Democrats have made it clear this past election that they don’t want to make the process fair. Throughout the entire campaign season, they desperately tried to block all voting reforms. Specifically, in 2016, Marc Elias, the former campaign lawyer for Hillary Clinton, lead the fight against ID laws across the country. His efforts were also being funded by Soros. Just recently, he joined the board of Priorities USA Action, a massive far-left super PAC focused on making it easier for people to vote illegally.
While conservatives attempt to limit the number of people who vote illegally, liberals are working to do the exact opposite. One of the main opponents of election integrity is Warren’s daughter. By taking money from Soros to help criminals participate, she is jeopardizing the entire democratic process. President Trump must work with Congress to ensure that people like her don’t succeed.
