Manchester United could not prevent Manchester City from keeping their treble chase alive as Pep Guardiola's side won the 2023 FA Cup final 2-1 on June 3.
United were aiming to secure a second trophy in Ten Hag's debut season at the club after lifting the Carabao Cup in February, and also block City from matching their 1999 treble win, but Ilkay Gundogan's double meant the trophy went back to the Etihad Stadium.
Victory in the Carabao Cup ended United's six-year wait for a trophy, and a win in the final against City could have signalled another corner turned as United look to continue their revival.
However, they will have to wait at least one more year if they are to match Arsenal's haul in this competition.
How many FA Cup trophies have Man United won?
United headed into the final as the second-most successful team in FA Cup history, with the Red Devils winning 12 titles.
Only Arsenal, with 14, have won more than United, with City's FA Cup record now standing at seven.

Last time Man United won the FA Cup
United's last FA Cup final win came seven years ago, as Louis van Gaal led them to a 2-1 extra-time victory over Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace at Wembley.
Despite falling behind to Jason Puncheon's late goal, United levelled in the closing minutes thanks to Juan Mata's deflected strike.
That sent the game into extra time, and with just 10 minutes remaining before a potential penalty shootout, United academy graduate Jesse Lingard smashed home the winner after Chris Smalling had earlier been sent off.
