Live goal updates: Spurs vs. Crystal Palace

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM, LONDON — Crystal Palace are hoping to continue a miserable run of form for Tottenham Hotspur, who are eyeing a first victory since the departure of Antonio Conte.

Four years ago, this particular London derby opened this magnificent new home for Spurs. The North Londoners at that point were full of unbridled enthusiasm, as Mauricio Pochettino's swashbuckling side made their way to the Champions League final.

Their current plight would've been unfathomable then. Spurs are now on a run of just one win in seven, including a humiliating 6-1 loss at Newcastle United.

Ryan Mason, their third manager of the campaign, has brought about signs of life, at least. His team came back from two down against Manchester United to draw, and three down against Liverpool, albeit to immediately throw it away.

This afternoon, the division's youngest manager aims to build on those rollercoaster displays against the all-time oldest Premier League boss, in Roy Hodgson.

The Sporting News will provide team news, highlights and live goal updates below, with postgame reaction to follow.

Spurs vs Crystal Palace highlights, live goal updates

46th min: The teams are back out for the second half, with no changes at the break.

45th min: GOAL! On the stroke of half-time, Harry Kane puts Spurs ahead! A cross from Porro on the right is swung into the box, going just over the Palace centre-backs and reaching the head of Kane, who makes no mistake. It's been a poor half with extremely few chances, finally given a spark.

Spurs vs Crystal Palace team news

Spurs team news: Mason has made three changes since the defeat at Anfield, with Emerson Royal returning from injury, Richarlison being rewarded for his cameo and Clement Lenglet coming into the side in place of Eric Dier. Hugo Lloris, Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur remain sidelined with long-term injuries.

Spurs' starting XI (4-3-3): Forster; Davies, Romero, Lenglet, Royal; Hojbjerg, Skipp, Porro; Son, Kane, Richarlison.

Crystal Palace team news: Last weekend's thrilling 4-3 victory in another cross-capital clash, against West Ham United, means no changes are needed. Nathaniel Clyne returns to the squad after a recent knee injury, as does Naouirou Ahamada, but James Tomkins and James McArthur are still absent.

Crystal Palace starting XI (4-3-3): Johnstone; Mitchell, Guehi, Andersen, Ward; Schlupp, Doucoure, Eze; Zaha, Ayew, Olise.

In the UK, Crystal Palace's trip to Spurs will not be broadcast, due to the blackout rule for 3pm kick-offs. Today, Manchester City vs. Leeds United has an extremely rare exemption from that rule, as it was moved back from its earlier TV slot due to the coronation of King Charles III.
