Aaron Rodgers' Jets' tenure started on Monday with the start of organized team activities (OTAs). On Tuesday, their partnership hit the first pothole. A day after taking snaps to kick off OTAs, Rodgers sat out Tuesday's practice session after injuring his calf.
Rodgers appeared in a languid mood prior to practice. He enjoyed the company of his new teammates, warming up in uniform to start Tuesday's activities.
When team drills started, though, he wasn't on the field. Instead, Rodgers walked along the sideline, favoring his ankle, according to ESPN's Dianna Russini.

Brian Costello of the New York Post pointed out that, although Rodgers did not participate in practice, his presence on the sideline seems to indicate that whatever his malady is wasn't too severe.
It looks like we won’t see Rodgers practice today. He is watching the drills with no helmet. The good news is he is still out here. If he was really hurt, he would be inside. It is also May 23.— Brian Costello (@BrianCoz) May 23, 2023
Russini offered a similar outlook. In an appearance on "SportsCenter" shortly after practice concluded, Russini said the following:
"This doesn't look to be too serious. He didn't even go over to the trainers. ... You could see Rodgers trying to put a little bit of weight on one of his legs there where we're not sure if it was a tweak, what sort of injury it is because he's not really showing too much. But you could definitely see in his face that something is going on."
Rodgers filled reporters in on what was bothering him during his post-practice presser. He said he tweaked his calf before practice, so opted to take a "vet day" off.

Zach Wilson filled Rodgers' stead under center, lashing the ball across the field with the first team. Per Jets X-Factor's Robby Sabo, Wilson impressed, dropping a few dimes "with the weight of the world off his shoulders."
Zach Wilson running with the ones, finds Garrett Wilson forms huge chunk down the left sideline (no threat of over-the-top help, so good read). Perfectly placed ball. 7v7, so no real pass rush, but ZW looks solid with the weight of the world off those shoulders. #Jets— Robby Sabo (@RobbySabo) May 23, 2023
