Chiefs vs. Dolphins Germany game: NFL schedule release confirms Tyreek Hill's return to Arrowhead Stadium is off
Tyreek Hill's return to K.C. is off with Chiefs vs. Dolphins set to be played in Germany

Fans of the Chiefs got some exciting news on Wednesday when the NFL revealed as a part of its coordinated schedule release that Kansas City would be playing a game in Frankfurt, Germany during the 2023 season. However, the announcement also came with some bad news. The Chiefs game heading overseas would be a home game, so that means that there will be one fewer home game at Arrowhead Stadium than expected. And it just so happens that game was one to which many Chiefs fans were looking forward.MORE: Tracking the last NFL schedule leaks before 2023 schedule releaseThe opponent that the Chiefs are going to play in Frankfurt is the Dolphins. That means that former Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill will not be returning to the stadium that he called home for six years during the 2023 regular season.Hill was a productive playmaker for the Chiefs who served for years as the team's No. 1 receiver. He developed a strong rapport with Patrick Mahomes and helped Kansas City win Super Bowl 54 over the 49ers.However, a reunion with the Chiefs faithful wasn't necessarily expected to be a warm one. Why? Because Hill has been relentlessly throwing shade at Kansas City since leaving, and he recently implied that the Dolphins would win at Arrowhead Stadium in 2023."Chiefs Kingdom, when the Miami Dolphins come to Arrowhead Stadium this year, guess what we gonna do?" Hill said on Sports Radio 810. "Guess what we gonna do? I hate to say it, man. I hate to throw up the peace sign against y’all. I hate to do it, but guess what? I’m gonna be y’all worst enemy that day. I’m gonna be y’all worst enemy that day."MORE: Best games on the 2023 NFL schedule for all 32 teamsAs such, Kansas City fans and players alike were looking forward to proving Hill wrong at home, as cornerback L'Jarius Sneed recently explained."Tyreek’s been talking a lot of trash," Sneed said. "He’s been talking a lot about coming back to Arrowhead. We’ll show him when he gets here.""I don’t really get into it, but I take notes of what he said," he later added. "I’ve been on the internet and I see what he’s saying. We’ll see once he comes to Arrowhead."Well, now Chiefs fans and players alike won't get a chance to go after Hill in the friendly confines of Arrowhead Stadium. Instead, they will have to try to shut down the four-time All-Pro at Frankfurt Stadium and wait for him to return to Kansas City at a later date.MORE: NFL strength of schedule breakdown for all 32 teamsOf course, that could be as soon as the 2024 NFL playoffs. The Chiefs are favored to win the AFC West while the Dolphins are expected to compete for the AFC East title or a wild-card berth, so the two could feasibly meet at some point in the postseason. If that happens, expect Hill to get a bit of a cold shoulder in what could be cold temperatures in Kansas City.
