Jaguars schedule 2023: Dates & times for all 17 games, strength of schedule, final record prediction
What to know about the Jaguars' 2023 schedule

The Jaguars were 4-8 in the middle of the last season, the first with coach Doug Pederson and the second with young franchise QB Trevor Lawrence. From there, they reeled off five consecutive victories to steal the AFC South division title at 9-8. For good measure, they also won a home playoff game over the Chargers before losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Chiefs in the divisional round.

So what will Pederson, Lawrence and their promising young team do for an encore? There are much higher expectations in Jacksonville, along with the excitement over their follow-up playoff upside.

Here is a complete breakdown of the Jaguars' 2023 schedule, including dates, start times and analysis for all 17 games.

The Jaguars' emergence with Lawrence prompted the Colts, Texans and Titans to all draft potential franchise quarterbacks with the thought of getting out of the veteran QB bridge cycle themselves. The weakened AFC South makes up six games of the schedule, with all the teams in the NFC South and AFC North providing a mix bag for another eight games on the slate.

Jaguars strength of schedule

The Jaguars, based on the combined 2022 record and winning percentage (135-148-4, .477) of their 2023 opponents, have the 10th-easiest schedule. When looking at that number based on 2023 projected win totals per Sharp Football Analysis, the Jaguars slide up a little to No. 9.

Toughest tests: The Jaguars are OK with the Souths, so it's clear facing the gauntlet of the Chiefs, Bengals and 49ers all in Jacksonville stand out as the most challenging games. The Jaguars' toughest road date is their most brutal overall game, at Buffalo.

Biggest breaks: The Jaguars have the potential to run the table in the division for six wins and also grab four more from the weak NFC South. That might be a necessity to get enough wins to be more than a No. 4 seed again.

Bottom line: Jacksonville's win total is manageable at 10.5, given the team finished last season on a 6-1 heater until being eliminated by Kansas City. The Jaguars need to improve by only two games to do that and they shouldn't start as slowly and be up to the task in multiple matchups against fellow AFC heavyweights.

Record prediction: 11-6
